Explanation of levels of Treatment
-
ACQ Treatment stands for Alkaline Copper Quaternary and usually has a brownish colour in appearance. ACQ basically means that it is treated with a water-based wood preservative and as such is suitable for uses including but not limited to Garden Beds, Children's Play Areas and Garden Furniture.
-
H3 Treated - Suitable for outside, above ground applications
- H4 Treated - Suitable for outside, in or on ground applications
Please note: There is no Australian Standard for non-structural timbers. Due to the nature of the timbers used for landscaping, they are likely to contain many natual characteristics such as heartwood and sap qualities. These are not considered faults as there is no such thing as apperance grade non-structural timber. If a higher apperance grade or performance grade is required, consider sourcing structural or apperance grade timbers such as F14 or F17, and be prepared to pay a higher price.
